Course Overview

This Hiragana course is created to give learners an enjoyable experience while learning how to read and write this alphabet.

This is a reading and writing course, but learners will also be introduced to some vocabulary words to serve as examples for the Hiragana characters.

This is a prerequisite for the “Everyday Conversation 2” course.

Introduction

The Japanese alphabet is composed of 3 forms of writing:

• Hiragana
• Katakana
• Kanji

This course will be teaching learners how to read and write the Hiragana alphabet

Objectives

• To make the Hiragana characters recognizable by the learners
• To teach learners how to read a certain character as is, and in combination with other characters
• To practice the learner’s reading skills
• To practice the learner’s writing skills

Justification

An enjoyable course will let the learner have a good time while taking this course. This will also help in the learning process.

Content

This course will teach the form, way of reading, way of writing of all the characters of the Hiragana alphabet.

Methodology

Visual and hearing materials are helpful in teaching the Hiragana alphabet effectively
