Course Overview

Everyday Conversation 1 is a course carefully streamlined for people who have no experience in the Japanese language at all.

In order to gain the basic communication skills for everyday Japanese situations, this is basicallly a listening course. Everyone is encouraged to practice speaking all the things they hear in order to learn the Japanese language.

This is a prerequisite for the “Everyday Conversation 2” course.

Introduction

The “Everyday Conversation 1” Japanese course lets beginners learn the basic words and phrases used in daily interactions in Japan. The course will also enhance the learner’s communication skills for simple everyday situations.

Objectives

• To make people, who have no experience in the Japanese language at all, learn the basic words and phrases
• To give people the commuications skills needed in everyday Japanese conversations
• To practice the learner’s listening skills
• To practice the learner’s speaking and pronunciation skills

Justification

One of the more basic ways to learn a language is to listen to the words and repeat them.
As the words and phrases contained here are the basic everyday words, learners will easily be able to strike a conversation using what they will learn here.

Content

Basic Expressions:

2. Basic Greetings
3. Basic Classroom Expressions
4. My Family
5. Situations relating to food
6. My Home and Entertaining Guests
7. Time Expressions
8. Important Life Events

Methodology

As a beginner, the learner may not yet know how to read the Japanese alphabet, so this course will be featuring the words in romaji or in the Roman alphabet, so the learner will still be able to read the word. This way the learner will be able to say the words better after hearing them in the accompanying audio clip.
